The IEEE Madras Section is one of the most active sections in India, coming under Asia – Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE covering Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry states. IEEE Madras Section has several dedicated volunteers, who have been actively involved in making this one of the most active sections.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), established in 1963, stands as the global organisation for technical professionals, nurturing over 4,60,000 members across 190 countries, with Student Branches present in nearly 7,000 colleges and universities worldwide, IEEE invaluable access to technical knowledge, networking avenues, career enhancement tools, and exclusive privileges to its members.
The student branch at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College is deeply committed to ensuring that students stay updated on the latest technological advancements among engineering graduates. Covering diverse fields such as aerospace systems, computer science, telecommunications, biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics, IEEE serves as a premier authority.
At Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, the IEEE student branch helps students to explore and engage with other students, faculties, and industry professionals, facilitating a lively environment for learning and collaboration.
