SWADESHI Microprocesor Challenge - 2020
Final year and third year EEE students S.Shylesh, N.K. Nareshkumar, V.S.Sivachandiran, M.Gobidhan, Saranyamaran purushothaman and M.Kesavapriya presented a project titled “Batter – O – matic” in the project expo “Swadeshi Microprocesor challenge -2020” under the guidance of Mr.V.Malarselvam and Mr.D.Durairaj and won the prize award of Rs 1,00,000. presentation certificate from Mr.Naval Jagota, GP capt, DAWSC, Air HQ(VB). The PHASE 1 result is yet to be announced and the team who wins will get a prize worth of 10 lakhs and 100 crore valued Central Government project.

India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2018 – IICDC 2018
Our Final year students Ms. Nallam Ramalakshmi, Ms. N. Karpagam, Ms. R. Soniya and Ms. R. Aswini had participated in IICDC 2018 competition which was held at IIM, Bangalore on 23rd JULY 2019. They have done and exhibited a project titled as ‘Mustard Seed Processor (MSP) Machine’ which integrates harvesting, cutting and grading of mustard in a single machine, under the guidance of Mr. K. Thangaraj, Assistant Professor, EEE, SMVEC.
They received a cash prize of Rs.25,000/- for being shortlisted as semi-finalist. Also received a product development fund of Rs.5 Lakhs from the Department of Science & Technology for developing their prototype as product. Following this, they received a cash prize of Rs.2 Lakhs for being second runner up in the finals. These students were appreciated for their innovative work by Smt. Padma Jaiswal, I.A.S., Secretary, Directorate of IT, Government of Puducherry.
“TECHNOVANZA 2018”
‘TECHNOVANZA 2018’ is one of the largest techno-managerial events with its theme ‘Beginning of Beyond’ hosted by Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) Mumbai and Capgemini. It serves the purpose of educating people with latest discoveries made in technology and thus spreading the knowledge to the society. Technovanza witnessed a footfall of over 80,000 visitors for the three day festival. TECHNOVANZA organizes different types of events under different domains such as ROBOWARS, VJTI Robotics Challenge (VRC), Night Drones, Makers Square, ISRO Exhibition, World Robotics Organisation and Robo Strike. This biggest techno-managerial fest was held on 28th, 29th and 30th December 2018 in Mumbai. This event is inaugurated by Dr.A.S. Kiran Kumar, former ISRO chairman and Dr.Rajendra Singh, water man of India.

Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Awards, 2018
SRISTI (Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions) has established three national awards (GYTI awards) for innovative student projects in engineering, biotechnology, agriculture, pharmacy, material science and other applied technological domains. These awards are given every year during the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE), Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi in the month of March.
Our, Sri Manakula vinayagar Engineering college , Madagadipet, 2nd year EEE students, L.R.Ravindranath,S.Abilashvaran,S.Aravindh and M.Logesh under the guidance of Dr.S.Anbumalar,Professor and Head /EEE,from the department of electrical and electronics engineering, submitted an innovative project for the GYTI 2018 award and they have received Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award, 2018 on 19.3.2018 in the FINE festival at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi from our president Ramnath Govind and Mr.Harshavardhan, Minister for Science and Technology and earth sciences.They will also receive a fund of Rs.1 lakh from the department of science and technology, New delhi, for the model development.Totally, 44 projects were selected from the 17000 projects submitted by other colleges for this award and they will receive financial aid from the ministry of department of science and technology. Our SMVEC team is one among the 44 projects awarded.Most of the awardees in that list are the research scholars from IITs. Among them, our SMVEC second year students achivement was very much appreciated by every one.

Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad conducted a technology competition under the head of ELAN & N-VISION-2018, in which Puducherry, Madagadipet, SMVEC second year students of EEE, L.Logesh, M.Lokesh, S.Abhilashwaran and R.Raghuraman submitted a Robotics work demonstration and won the third prize. Our second year EEE student Ms.R.Annapurna (2016-2020 Batch) has received second prize from our Honorable Chief Minister V. Narayanaswamy in front of our beloved Chairman and Managing Director Shri. The high level committee of Recruitment Analysis Council (RAC) is planned and executed a National recruitment Plan-2017 in association with the State and Central Government. RAC announced IET 17 (Innovation of Engineering and Technology ’17), a paper presentation contest for Engineering students related to Science and Technology supported by ‘National Cyber Defence Research Centre (NCDRC). Through IET’17 top selected papers will be recommended for an implementation to Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and to the IT companies.

Their paper has been ranked among top 25 best papers out of 117 short listed papers for 2nd round from various zones all over India.
Moreover, Mr. Krishna Chandar, Mr. Balaji and Saravannan (III year), Aravindh, Magesh Babu and Ramachandren (II year), studying in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College have presented their innovative projects. Their paper has been ranked among top 10 best concepts out of 117 short listed papers for 2nd round from various zones all over India. Integrated Technology (IT) Olympiad 2017
Rotary Club of Pune Pride (RCPP), Virtual Lab, AFOUR Tech and College of Engineering Pune (COEP) jointly organized a National Level Integrated Technology (IT) Olympiad 2017 competition. The competition initially started with 6000 students from all over the India involving several stages in the competition such as Preliminary Test, Fundamentals and advanced knowledge test in the projects. Out of 6000 students only 25 teams were selected for the finals, out of which 8 teams were selected as the best and allowed to present their innovations in front of Industrial experts
In that competition, the student of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College J.Gowtham, III year from the Electrical and Electronics Department has won the second prize with a cash prize of Rs. 12,000 and award of honor, along with an internship program in industry through which he has an opportunity to get job offer. The concept developed by the student entitled “Designing and Development of special purpose machines for cashewnut modernization process with special emphasis on use of solar power” under the guidance of Mr. D.Durairaj, Assistant Professor, EEE.

Make in India
“Make in India” is a major new national programme of the Government of India in association with Entrepreneurs Council of India (ECI ) designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property and build best in class manufacturing infrastructure in the country. It was led by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Government of India. According to the same, Project Council announced Call for Paper Presentation contest on “Make in India”.
This contest took place during September-November 2016. In this National level programme, around 1300 teams are participated out of which around 200 teams were selected for finals. Out of those finalists, 5 teams were from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Puducherry. The grand National finals took place at Sathyabama University, Chennai on 19th November 2016 in which the team of J. Krishna Chandhar, R. Balaji, K. Harish Kumar, T. Saravanan of III Year-EEE and the team of P. Aravindh, S. Magesh Babu, R. Karthick of II Year-EEE won the “BEST PAPER” Award. The institution ‘SRI MANAKULA VINAYAGAR ENGINEERING COLLEGE, Puducherry won the “Award for Excellency”.

A Student team of P.Megavaruman and F.Mohamed Riaz from department of EEE & V.M.Rosheth from department of ECE had received incubation at N.S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, IIM Bangalore for being selected as 4th best innovation in IICDC 2016. They received a cash prize of Rs.75, 000 and a financial grant of Rs.5 Lakhs for the product development from DST, New Delhi and also they have received a SEED fund of Rs.20,00,000/- for their start-up.
